Whew! This book took me a LOOOOONNNGGG time to finish!! It was excellently written and had great characterizations, but there was so much text packed into its 647 pages, it just made for a very long read.
At first, I found the shift of storyteller each chapter to be somewhat frustrating, but in the end, I think it made the story easier to follow. There was so much to this story that it couldn't possibly be told by just one person, especially as the characters scattered throughout the land getting ready for the war to come.
I think once I wade through the rest of my "to read" pile, I will look for the rest of the series, but right now, my brain needs a rest. :o)
